This prestigious award was created in 2022 by Johnnie Womack in memory of her husband, the late Rev. Dr. William L. Womack. Rev. Womack, whose love for music of all genres, shined through all his artistic endeavors, and his impact on the industry of music and television is one of great significance. In memory of his legacy, this scholarship is offered to any high school student who plans on majoring in music and/or technology.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • The applicant must be a member of The Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church.
  • The applicant must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher upon the time of application.
  • The applicant must plan on majoring in Music or Technology during their undergraduate career.
  • The applicant must complete an essay addressing the following topic in 200-300 words: The Importance of Music in Everyday Life.
